To accelerate universal access to reliable, affordable, and sustainable electricity in Nigeria through scalable mini-grid development that drives inclusive economic growth, job creation, and climate resilience.

1. Access & Infrastructure Development

Target Goal

  • Develop and deploy solar hybrid mini-grids across underserved and unserved communities in Nigeria, prioritizing rural and peri-urban areas.

10-Year Targets

  • Electrify 500,000+ households through isolated and interconnected mini-grids

  • Deliver 1,500–2,000 MW of distributed renewable capacity

  • Expand mini-grid coverage across at least 20 states

  • Support grid resilience through interconnected mini-grids in collaboration with DisCos

Improved electricity access, reduced energy poverty, and enhanced service reliability.

2. Economic Growth & Productive Use of Electricity

Target Goal
Link electricity access to income generation and enterprise development.

10-Year Targets

  • Support 100,000+ MSMEs and agro-enterprises with reliable power

  • Deploy productive use equipment (PUE) across agriculture, manufacturing, and services

  • Reduce post-harvest losses and improve value-chain productivity

  • Enable rural industrial clusters and commercial hubs

3. Private Sector & Investment Mobilization

Target Goal
Strengthen private-sector participation in mini-grid development.

  • Mobilize public–private partnerships (PPPs) for mini-grid expansion

  • Attract blended finance from development partners and commercial investors

  • Support local developers and EPC firms through capacity building

  • Promote standardized, bankable mini-grid models

Reduce emissions and promote clean energy transition.

  • Avoid 10+ million tonnes of COâ‚‚ emissions by replacing diesel generation

  • Promote responsible battery lifecycle management and recycling

  • Increase renewable energy penetration in rural power supply

  • Support Nigeria’s climate and energy transition commitments
